This is my first post!
Vernon Gohlston-The Jets needed a defensive player, but I dont know if Vernon Gholston was the right choice. Physicaly he is a monster, but his football skills and football IQ might not be NFL ready. He has a lot of potential, but he's going to have to work hard to reach those hieghts. It's going to be up to Mangini and the coaching staff to mold him into the player that he could be.
Dustin Keller-Keller was the best TightEnd in the draft, and the Jets made the right choice. Bubba Franks is aging, and I wouldnt trust him to be the player he was a few years ago with the Packers. Chris Baker is a good player, but has contract issues and may not be playing very much this year for the Jets. The Jets needed a TE, and Keller was the guy to take. He'll be the guy to make Pennington look like he was a few years ago, and if Clemens is the starter then he'll be the perfect safety net for him.
Dwight Lowery-I like this pick. The Jets needed a guy to play opposite Reves, and this could be the guy one day. Right now he's not going to be a starter, but he has the potential to be a solid conerback and a reliable player for the team.
Erik Ainge-This was stupid. Has Mangini given up on Clemens already? This was a waste of a pick, especialy since there are other wholes to fill on the team.
Overall, the Jets did a good job, and filled the two big holes they had at D-Line and TE. The only thing I would've liked to see was taking a runningback. When they traded up to get Keller, I actualy thought they were going for Ray Rice. He would have been perfect for the Jets, and have been a fan-favorite. Neverthelss, I'm excited for the upcoming season, and if Gholston maximises his potential, he's going to be really fun to watch
